What is Stripe and how do I set up an account?Updated a year ago

Stripe is an online payment processing platform that enables CrowdMall to accept payments from customers online. It works in the background to handle the pre-orders you make using your own recognized method of payment.

There is no need for you to set up an account with Stripe (in fact, there is no way to do so).

When you pre-order a product by clicking on the teal-coloured "Pre-order" button on a campaign page, you add the product to your shopping cart, where your payment is handled by Stripe.

CrowdMall uses Stripe to provide a great service for you in the following ways:

  1. Seamless checkout experience: Stripe offers a smooth and easy-to-use checkout experience, allowing you to quickly and securely make payments (see entry for "How do I pre-order a product?")

  2. Multiple payment options: Stripe supports a wide range of payment options, including credit and debit cards, digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay, and bank transfers. This means you can choose the payment method that works best for you.

  3. Strong security: Stripe takes security seriously and uses advanced encryption methods to keep you data safe. This ensures that sensitive information like your credit card numbers and personal details are protected from fraud and other malicious activities.

  4. Fast transactions: Stripe's payment processing is quick, allowing your to complete your purchases efficiently. Stripe also supports automatic card updates, which means you don't have to update their payment details each time you make a purchase.

  5. Easy dispute resolution: In the event of a dispute, Stripe offers a simple and transparent process for resolving issues. You can easily file disputes through the platform, and Stripe works with merchants to resolve the issue quickly and fairly. This gives you confidence and peace of mind, knowing that you can trust Stripe when you make purchases.
