How do I know a project creator is who they claim they are?Updated a year ago
Every product creator goes through a rigorous onboarding process when they register with CrowdMall. We conduct a due diligence exercise on each potential vendor on the following issues, displayed in the "How we vet creators" section on the How CrowdMall works page:
- Innovation: Every product must be brand new to be market rather than a slight change to an existing product
- Resources to produce: We carefully review a creator's means and resources to produce their product to insure a smooth and timely delivery upon successful campaign completion
- Verified manufacturing capabilities: We carefully review creators to make sure they have the capability to make the product in a reasonable timeframe once their campaign completes
- Trustworthy and reliable: We carefully vet creators to insure they are both trustworthy and reliable sellers to participate in sales on CrowdMall
- Funding in place: Creators have the necessary finances in place to produce the product and deliver as promised to buyers
- Original: Each product must not infringe on another product creator’s intellectual property or trademarks
You can also conduct your own online research on the product creator and/or their brand. Vendors are likely to be active on platforms like LinkedIn and other social media accounts, they will probably run their own websites and/or blogs, and they can located via search engines in terms of articles they have written, mentions in the press, and professional histories.
If however you remain concerned about a product creator, you can contact our customer support team via email at [email protected] or by sending a message via the form on our Contact Us page.
